Eaton, Hong Kong Lights Off to Make A Better Planet
(29 March, 2014, Hong Kong) Starting from year 2009, Eaton, Hong Kong has been continuous in supporting the meaningful Earth Hour event organised by Word Wide Fund of Nature (WWF). This event encourages people to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour to raise awareness about the need to take immediate action on climate change.

Earth Hour 2014 starts…
5! 4! 3! 2! 1! The master of ceremony kicked off the Earth Hour 2014, guests and staffs of Eaton, Hong Kong witnessed the lights out of Eaton, Hong Kong from 8:30pm to 9:30pm. All non-essential lights of hotel’s lobby, Metro Lounge, T Bar, exterior billboards and the wall lamps of all guest floor corridors were switched off at 8:30pm on 29 March 2014 and the areas were lit up by the LED candled lights alongside the giggling and laughter of the guests at T Garden.
Invited by Eaton, Hong Kong, guests who support the Earth Hour 2014 visited the alfresco restaurant, T Garden, and had a fun-filled night at the Organic Drink Party while enjoying a live yoyo performance – “Light-up the Dark”, presented by world-class yoyo players.
What’s More than an Hour
In order to further disseminate the message of Earth Hour internally, Eaton, Hong Kong has started celebrating the event few days earlier from 26 to 28 March 2014. During the celebration, Make Your Own Eco-enzyme Workshop has been held for hotel staffs to promote good food waste management, while Candlelit Lunch was served at the E+Eat, the hotel staff canteen.
“Earth Hour reminds us that there are simple actions we can do for our planet, it is also a good opportunity for us to inspire all our guests and staffs to protect the environment and thereby we are happy to extend our support in promoting this meaningful event.” said Katrina Cheng, the Environmental Officer of Eaton, Hong Kong.

Earth Hour is a worldwide event that is organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and is held on the last Saturday of March annually, encouraging households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour to raise awareness about the need to take action on climate change.
