Jiang Shuo, an Austria-based Chinese sculptor, obtained her masters degree from the Central Academy of Arts and Design. Early art works by Jiang were in bronze with a folk-like quality and gained recognition after her migration to Austria. Jiang then started working on her new collection – Red Guard Series which drew even more recognition from audiences.

拥有中央美术学院硕士学位的蒋朔是一名定居于澳地利的中国裔雕塑家，她早年一系列以铜制成的艺术品，在她移居澳地利后获得大众的表扬。此后，蒋朔开始创作另一引人着目的全新系列 – 《红卫兵系列》。

Series name 系列名称 : Red Guard Series 红卫兵系列

Jiang derived this series from her first hand experience of the Cultural Revolution, as well as her observations on the growing rationalisation of contemporary thought. These open mouthed faceless warriors wear the Red Guard uniform and each of them carries a red flag: common practice during the Cultural Revolution. The significance of the Red Guard sculptures lies not only in the artist’s ability to shake off her previous artistic habits, but also in her concise grasp and lively interpretation of the Red Guard theme.

由于蒋朔生于文化大革命的时期，她便以第一身经历，配合其目睹了大众人民思想的改变，创作了《红卫兵系列》。此系列中，铜制士兵们张开口穿上红卫兵制服，手持红旗，表征着文化大革命的一个普遍现象。《红卫兵系列》不但为蒋朔的艺术事业带来新突破，更精确且生动地透过小士兵反思当代的政局。
