Xiong Xi Qiu is a talented artist whose expertise lies in applying silkscreen techniques in her art works, making her a leader in Chinese Pop Art. Different from other contemporary artists who are normally influenced by cultural clashes, Xiong’s pop-art compositions and colourful expression show a new life style of many young, urban Chinese.

熊喜秋是一名以制作丝印画而闻名的中国年轻艺术家，善长泡泡艺术。有别于现今著名的艺术家，熊喜秋的创作并未受到文化冲击而影响，她的作品善以彩色的结构表达中国现今青年对未来的憧憬。

In this series, Xiong’s vivid colour scheme and use of a young girl are representative of the Chinese youth dreaming of a new life after the death of Mao Zedong. The younger in China are now no different from the young people in Western countries in hoping for a life of happiness, freedom and peace. Another feature of Xiong’s works is her combination of modern silkscreen prints with traditional Chinese scrolls to keep balance in her work.

熊喜秋在这系列中，以鲜明的色彩及一名年轻女孩子贯穿她的作品，揭露了中国新生代于毛泽东去世后对未来的向往。出生于这年代的中国人与西方国家的年轻人无异，同样渴求充满快乐、自由及和平的生活环境。此外，中西合壁是熊喜秋作品另一特色，她运用西方丝印画技术配上中国传统卷轴使其画作在新颖之中亦保留一点传统色彩。
