Having majored in oil painting at the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, the 1980s-born artist gained recognition by his colourful art pieces. Core subjects of Zhu’s works are the topics that are familiar with the public such as the Cultural Revolution and easily create resonance with his audience.

朱岩毕业于天津美术学院，主修油画，是一名才华洋溢的八十后画家，善长运用彩色刺激视觉，他的画作主要创作元素乃大众所熟悉的话题如文化大革命以引起共鸣。

It is Zhu’s practice to set a stage for all of his art works and there is no exception for “Happily Ever After”. Two emotionless puppetry characters are standing in front of the red Chinese traditional wedding background and a spot light is focusing on the bride and the groom, showing the reality of hundreds of thousands of Chinese couples. 

朱岩的作品总有一个舞台作为背景，画作《永结同心》亦不例外，在这油画上，两名目无表情本偶式的新郎及新娘站在中国传统婚宴的布置前，由一颗追光灯照耀着，表现出中国长久以来婚礼的真实境况。
